In the case of an emergency, who would you call? Imagine a personal crisis happens in your life, who are the people you call for help and support. In a recent community conversation looking at building on the assets in our communities some one mentioned the post office as a spot for connection and hospitality. They commented that they live in a small town and perhaps it’s different there but there’s always seems to a crisis of some type happening. The post office is the place where you often learn of it and also rally and organize to support your neighbors.
In the conversation there often seemed to be this web of connections between neighbors and assets that then often grew during these times. Others in the same conversation spoke of people we know that are likely to turn to agencies, or an emergency call, or systems for help in the same type of situations. It made us think how we all want that personal web of connections to be there for us.
