Joe Erpenbeck is a consultant and faculty member of the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) Institute at DePaul University. He provides training on ABCD and shares stories from 25 years of experience in communities across the US and Canada.
Over the last 30 years he has worked with social service agencies, neighbourhood groups, faith communities, libraries, schools and civic groups in the United States and Canada, helping to build more connected neighbourhoods where everyone belongs. Prior to this Joe worked with people with disabilities in employment, community connecting and self-determination programs.
Joe was the Director of Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) in Vancouver, BC and Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked with staff from multiple agencies that facilitated connections and built partnerships with local organizations, businesses and citizens to build on the capacity of community and neighbours to care for each other.
He currently provides training and support to community agencies, service providers and neighborhood groups. Particpants appreciate the interactive conversations and real life stories of ABCD in action
