A Place for Stories

I have been working with several groups including the Free Library of Philadelphia looking at the impact of community catalysts initiatives. The power of residents having a platform to tell their story has been significant. Tiffany, a librarian for the Free Library of Philadelphia told me about two women sharing a story about what they cared about at a community conversation and learning that they lived on the same street for 20 years and had never met. Tiffany commented, “If a library can just do that, over and over again, just imagine how abundant and connected the communities would be.”

As many in this community have mentioned, getting to know the story changes everything.
