Building a Web of Connections

I have been hosting a Staying Connected During a Global Pandemic Zoom conversation with old and new friends in North Carolina with support from the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities. At a recent gathering we discussed gifts of the head, heart, and hands, and everyone shared one an item pertaining to a gift of theirs.

We learned and saw many things including a Native American-style bamboo flute, baseball cards, an art and poetry magazine, a computer keyboard, flowers and a dinosaur pinata! We learned one of the basics of building community is being curious about other people’s gifts, and sharing these gifts creates a sense of belonging.
