I was walking in San Francisco and saw a crowd outside of a federal building. I leaned that everyone was gathered to see the release of Fernando Carrillo. He was being reunited with his family after being held for six months outside of the city on deportation order. It was extremely emotional hearing his story of being arrested and seeing the joy as he held his daughter and wife. He spoke about the community effort it took for this day to happen and his appreciation for everyone. People around me had been a part of the effort and wanted to be here for this moment. Fernando was looking forward to a real shower, getting in his pajamas and going to work tomorrow.
