Recently I had the privilege of facilitating a retreat for the Board of an art and nature center. The members began by sharing what they loved about this place. Many things were identified including the look on a child’s face when they hold a snake for the first time which reminded me of the boy several years ago that drew a caterpillar he found on his “best day.”
The list they created and the conversations over the evening were a wonderful reminder of the significance of people coming together around nature and art and contributing their gifts. As one Board member described it, “we are part of the glue that holds our community together.”
